1       – Така и предполагах – си каза тихичко мечето.		1       "I thought not," said Pooh, nodding to himself.
2       –Довиждане! Трябва вече да си тръгвам.		2       "Well, good-bye. I must be going on."
3       То започна да се измъква от дупката.		3       So he started to climb out of the hole.
4       С предните си лапи дращеше напред, със задните риташе назад и след малко носът му се показа навън.		4       He pulled with his front paws, and pushed with his back paws, and in a little while his nose was out in the open again . . .
5       След още малко... и ушите, и предните лапи се показаха, после раменете и после...		5       and then his ears . . . and then his front paws . . . and then his shoulders . . . and then –
6       – Ох! Помощ! – извика Пух. – По-добре е да се върна...		6       "Oh, help!" said Pooh. "I'd better go back."
7       Ох! Жалко, трябва да продължа напред...		7       "Oh, bother!" said Pooh. "I shall have to go on."
8       Но не мога да направя и това! Ами сега? – изплаши се Пух.		8       "I can't do either!" said Pooh.
9       – Помощ! Ох! Помощ!		9       "Oh, help and bother!"
10      Заю също искаше да излезе на разходка,		10      Now, by this time Rabbit wanted to go for a walk too,
11      но като видя, че предната врата е запушена, излезе през задната, заобиколи и застана пред Пух:		11      and finding the front door full, he went out by the back door, and came round to Pooh, and looked at him.
12      – Хей, ти май се заклещи?		12      "Hallo, are you stuck?" he asked.
13      – Ами! Н-не! – отговори Пух безгрижно.		13      "N-no," said Pooh carelessly.
14      – Почивам си, мисля си и си тананикам!		14      "Just resting and thinking and humming to myself."
15      – Я си подай лапата!		15      "Here, give us a paw."
16      Мечо Пух си подаде лапата и Заю започна да го тегли... тегли... тегли...		16      Pooh Bear stretched out a paw, and Rabbit pulled and pulled and pulled....
17      – Ох! – извика Пух. – Боли!		17      "Ow!" cried Pooh. "You're hurting!"
18      – Никакво съмнение. Пух, заклещен си!		18      "The fact is," said Rabbit, "you're stuck."
19      – Това стана – сърдито извика Пух, – защото вратата ти не е достатъчно голяма!		19      "It all comes," said Pooh crossly, "of not having front doors big enough."
20      – Това стана – строго каза Заю, – от много ядене!		20      "It all comes," said Rabbit sternly, "of eating too much.
21      Още тогава си помислих		21      I thought at the time," said Rabbit,
22      – само че не исках да ти го кажа – че един от двама ни яде много		22      "only I didn't like to say anything," said Rabbit, "that one of us was eating too much," said Rabbit,
23      – и това не бях аз!		23      "and I knew it wasn't me," he said.
24      Е... ще отида да доведа Кристофър Робин.		24      "Well, well, I shall go and fetch Christopher Robin."
25      Кристофър Робин живееше на другия край на Гората		25      Christopher Robin lived at the other end of the Forest,
26      и когато той дойде със Заю и видя предната половина на Пух,		26      and when he came back with Rabbit, and saw the front half of Pooh,
27      каза: „Глупаво мое мече!“, с такава обич, че всички се обнадеждиха.		27      he said, "Silly old Bear," in such a loving voice that everybody felt quite hopeful again.
28      – Тъкмо бях започнал да се тревожа – каза Пух, като тихичко подсмърчаше, – че Заю няма да може вече да използва предната врата.		28      "I was just beginning to think," said Bear, sniffing slightly, "that Rabbit might never be able to use his front door again.
29      А това никак не бих желал!		29      And I should hate that," he said.
30      – И аз също! – каза Заю.		30      "So should I," said Rabbit.
31      – Какво? Няма да може да я използва ли? – каза Кристофър Робин.		31      "Use his front door again?" said Christopher Robin.
32      – Разбира се, че ще може!		32      "Of course he'll use his front door again.
33      – Дано! – каза Заю.		33      "Good," said Rabbit.
34      – Ако не успеем да те издърпаме напред. Пух, ще те избутаме назад.		34      "If we can't pull you out, Pooh, we might push you back."
35      Угрижен, Заю си поподръпна мустака и каза,		35      Rabbit scratched his whiskers thoughtfully, and pointed out that,
36      че ако го избутат назад, Пух ще се върне у дома му		36      when once Pooh was pushed back, he was back,
37      и, разбира се, на Заю ще му е много приятно да вижда Пух,		37      and of course nobody was more glad to see Pooh than he was,
38      но нали все пак трябва да се знае: някои животни са създадени да живеят на дърветата, други – под земята и...		38      still there it was, some lived in trees and some lived underground, and –
39      – Искаш да кажеш че аз никога няма да изляза навън? – прекъсна го Пух.		39      "You mean I'd never get out?" said Pooh.
